On Road Risk Reduction / Mine Site Entry Operate Light Vehicle
One day programs to meet mine site entry requirements and Government Contractual requirements.
This course incorporates the Unit of Competency, Operate Light Vehicle from the Resource and Infrastructure Training Package. The course content was developed by Shawsett Training with the following aim “to raise awareness of driving practices that contribute to the safety and welfare of course participants and develop the potential for the reduction of personal injury and vehicle damage” when operating a light vehicle.
About the Course
The course is based upon the results of negotiations with industry, including the Mining Industry (audit compliant for Rio Tinto (Pilbara Iron) and KJV Gorgan) and Government Agencies, to establish an effective course for drivers of light commercial 4WD or Non 4WD vehicles. The practical training can be carried out in both 4WD and non-4WD light vehicles. The course is conducted regularly from our offices in Midland and may be conducted at the client premises. Importantly, this course is conducted on road, in real time conditions and utilises suburban, highway and gravel surface roads where participants will experience varying grip levels and road camber, and the subsequent impact on vehicle performance.
