HLTFA311A – Apply First Aid
A one or two day course that reflects the “Old” Senior First Aid. Still the benchmark of first aid courses, and conducted in smaller groups to maximise outcomes.
This unit delivers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s) and/or the incident (and other first aiders), until the arrival of medical or other assistance. This course replaces the older references to Senior First Aid.
This unit includes theory and practical components and covers topics such as:
- Respiratory conditions
- Choking and drowning
- CPR and
- Head injuries.
The course can be delivered for individuals or groups of up to 12. The course can be delivered over 2 days (for groups), or 1 day (for groups or individuals) if learners successfully complete the online learning component prior to attendance (see e-Learning Platform for more details). On successful completion of the training and assessment participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Certificate and Wallet Card.
