
Course Overview:
The Ambulance Driving Course is a specific course that utilises the
extensive experience of highly qualified Ambulance Paramedic Driver Trainers.
The course provides participants with basic skills, knowledge and attitudes
necessary for the safe and expedient operation in both emergency and
non emergency conditions, of normal on road ambulances, mine site ambulances
and rescue vehicles where patient extrication, care and on going treatment
is provided.
Course Duration and Conditions:
The course is conducted over two days and complies with the Nationally
Accredited Short Course outcomes as listed in Vehicle Control and Driving
Techniques Health Science – Ambulance Pre Hospital Care Module
001/01. There is also a two-week course suitable for drivers of Ambulance
Vehicles who may require additional skills and knowledge.
Who Should Attend:
This course is designed for operators of Ambulance Vehicles in a variety
of situations. The two day course also is suitable for Volunteer Ambulance
Officers carrying out Volunteer duties with the WA Ambulance Service
